

The
Tennessee Cultural Heritage Preservation Society (TNCHPS)
is a statewide organization with the purpose of preserving
African-American history and culture through historic preservation
efforts and educational initiatives. Established in 1997,
TNCHPS is a non-profit organization governed by the laws
of the state of Tennessee. Although the organization is
headquartred in Memphis, our diverse membership is drawn
from inidividuals, organizations and agencies from across
the state.
TNCHPS
was founded as a non-profit organization in 1997 by Ms.
Earlice Taylor, a local historian and neighborhood leader
is a state-wide service organization based in Memphis. Ms.
Taylor has a wealth of experience working with historic
organizations. She also serves on the Board of the Tennessee
Preservation Trust, the African American Preservation Alliance,
and Memphis Landmark Commission. Due to increased interest
by the public in preservation of the cultural heritage,
historic structures, and areas significant to African-American
history.
